Winter Sales Conference - France, January 2009
Bringing together the UK sales regions to congratulate and communicate strategy for the year ahead.
Our Solution
After a number of destination proposals, our client settled on Disneyland Paris as their base for the 2009 Winter Conference. The Newport Bay Hotel was host to 140 sales staff, making use of the adjoining convention centre for the main conference activity. With a delegation spread across the country we set about establishing numbers and co-ordinating groups for regional departures. With staggered arrivals, our local hostesses were on hand to welcome the delegates and direct them to their waiting transfers. Upon arrival at the convention centre on a frosty morning, our staff were ready to hand out badges and conference materials, and assist with any queries before sending the delegates to check in before lunch. A themed dinner with private rides ensured the delegates enjoyed their short time in resort. Day Two began with a private breakfast and then straight into conference. After lunch it was time to let loose and delegates were packed off on a GPS treasure hunt in the park. With time left over, delegates were able to enjoy the rides before returning to prepare for a spectacular gala dinner. Delegates indulged in a delicious three course meal, whilst the MC, comedian, band and DJ kept the evening in full swing until day broke in the early hours.
The Highlight
This event had more than one highlight, not least after conference on Day One, when delegates were surprised to find that a section of the park was hired out exclusively, along with two rides for the sole use of our delegates to enjoy before a Caribbean feast was laid on. Drinks, bird ladies and colourful carnival dancers kept delegates entertained all evening before the short transfer back to the hotel for a nightcap. In addition, an 18piece Motown band was brought in from the UK to perform at the Gala Dinner, where in attendance where Mickey and Minnie Mouse themselves!
Client Feedback
The client noted our ability to react to short lead-times and last minute requests, and felt the event was a success thanks in part to the “do-ers” on our team. The biggest compliment this client gave was that they thoroughly enjoyed working with us.
