GLOBAL SCIENTIFIC EXPERT MEETINGS (SEM), 2010

Following five successful global SEM’s in 2009, our pharmaceutical client asked us to organise this series of meetings again for 2010. The purpose was to train delegates and develop their expertise on a specific diabetes drug. Attendees from all over the world were invited to attend.

Our Solution

Following venue search of all major European cities, Rome (March) and Milan (May) were chosen as a preferred location by the client. The venue search for the remaining two meetings was extensive as we had to take into account safety issues and flight access for Asia and South America. The client decided on Kuala Lumpur (August) and Buenos Aires (September) as additional destinations. Each of the four meetings was attended by 90 delegates and ran over 1.5 days with both plenary and workshop sessions. W&O Events provided full event management services including a website with online registration, airport meet and greet, airport transfers, accommodation and external venue management.

As a result of the successful series of meetings in both 2009 and 2010, W&O Events will be organising eight Global Scientific Expert Meetings in 2011 in destinations such as Berlin, Prague, Cannes and Monte Carlo.
