MeetIncentive for Desktop Publishing Company, Dubrovnik 2011
Our client briefed us to develop a proposal for a MeetIncentive for 30 Customer Service Directors and their spouses for a few days of fun, followed by 1.5 days of business meetings.
The Challenges
Whilst our client had already selected Dubrovnik, located on the beautiful Adriatic Coast, as the destination for the 4 night/5 day programme, we certainly weren’t expecting the 24 hour turn around timeframe for the proposal and two weeks to go until the event! But nothing is impossible here at W&O and our teams proceeded to identify the optimum solutions.Our Solution
Flights – check! Hotel –check! Transfers and activities – check! Weather – check! Proposal with itemised budget – check! Within the next 24 hours, the client approved the proposal and we proceeded with the programme implementation and attendee liaison.
W&O identified Hotel Excelsior as best suited home to this dynamic group. The 5* property, one of the finest hotels overlooking the UNESCO Dubrovnik Old Town, was a fantastic choice and offered great value for money during the low season. During the first three days our programme incorporated ad hoc tours such as Dubrovnik by foot, exploring Montenegro and a vineyard tour with wine tasting. A dinner at Srd Mountain, which serves as the backdrop to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, was not to be missed, nor was the gala dinner in Restaurant Proto on Saturday night before all spouses departed on Sunday. The Customer Service Directors were then left to focus on business for the following day and half.
Most importantly, issues such as time constraints and difficult flight access due to shoulder season were promptly dealt with by our resourceful Project Manager and the way was paved for the attendees to enjoy a memorable escape in Dubrovnik.
The Highlights
Considering the time of the year, sunny and warm Dubrovnik offered a nice alternative to the cold and rainy Britain. The Dubrovnik walking tour in the evening as well as the dining experience in Proto have certainly been added by many to the ‘never forget’ collection of experiences. From a logistical point of view, our team took great satisfaction from the quick turn-around time, the client trust and the quality of the support from our local partners.
