Ski Incentive IT company, USA & Canada February 2009
To celebrate the sales achievements of the European Channel Partners
Our Solution
In consultation with the client we settled on a programme with 2 nights in Portland, Oregon staying at The Governor Hotel and 3 nights in Whistler, Canada with accommodation at the Fairmont Chateau Resort. With guests located across Europe the event started with regional flights into the main hubs of London and Frankfurt and then onward connections to Portland. On arrival it was just a short transfer to the hotel and a quick but satisfying welcome meal of hamburgers and fries before the jet lag caught up and guests retired.
The first full day was hosted by the client’s USA head office with a tour of their development plant and then culminating with a fantastic dinner of prime steaks and Hawaiian seafood at the Portland City Grill and its fabulous views of the city. After a quick flight to Vancouver and transfer to Whistler it was time for guests to get their snowboots on and hit the slopes for a couple of days of activities ranging from Skiing and Snowboarding to dog-sledding, snow shoeing and heli-skiing. In the evenings casual dinners in local restaurants provided the hearty, wholesome food the group needed at the end of their active days.
The Highlight
With two fantastic days on the mountain it was important to finish on a high. So what better way than the group snowmobiling up Whistler Mountain to a log cabin and a traditional fondue evening. In small groups the guests were treated to delicious servings of Swiss cheese with rustic bread and simmering broths with local meats and vegetables, all accompanied with the music of a modern guitarist.
Communication
We are strong believers in drumming things up, especially if it helps performance and gets people excited. So in collaboration with our client a number of teasers were sent to prospective winners before the event such as Whistler postcards with a message from the Managing Director and ‘Dress the skier’ sticker books. The gifts didn’t stop there though, on arrival into Portland a giant box of Jelly Beans gave them the USA feel, whilst a ‘ski survival kit’ came in handy on arrival into Whistler (hat, gloves, handwarmers, lip balm etc). A cuddly moose customised with the client logo bought things to a close on the final evening (and served as a useful gift for children left at home!)
